Eden Ventures and Vento Investments, the two institutional players team up to co-invest in PreSeed rounds.
Eden Ventures, an investment firm in partnership with business angels from Italian Angels for Growth (IAG) and Vento Investments, the Italian chapter of Exor Ventures for investments in early-stage Italian founders, are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership.
With more than 1.8 billion investments in 323 rounds, representing 48 percent year-on-year growth and the largest number of rounds above 100 million euros (with the strongest growth in Europe), never has the Italian venture capital market been on a strong upward trajectory. And, where institutional investors move to the Growth stages, Eden Ventures and Vento Investments decide to support innovative talents in the early stages of their entrepreneurial projects. A delicate phase, the first in the life of a startup, referred to as "PreSeed." A phase in which the which the levels of risk are higher, and therefore the investments lower and dedicated to the prototyping and market validation of a technological solution, but it is also the type of investment that pays, in terms of return, a higher profit.
"The PreSeed stage is not currently manned by most players in the market, and this collaboration is a natural effect given the kindred model between Eden Ventures and Vento Investments, which invest private capital to work alongside tech talent from the idea to the later stages where other players in the ecosystem arrive"-says Leonardo Giagnoni, Managing Partner of Eden Ventures.
But Eden Ventures' value proposition is just that: rapid investment. All this thanks to and through access to a network of professional angels, able to support startups in subsequent rounds as well, flanking entrepreneurs from the development of the business idea to the approach with institutional investors, in line with Vento Investments, which gives access to partners and their funds for subsequent support.
The agreement between the two entities has already led to the closing of an initial co-investment: Bugpilot, an artificial intelligence-powered platform that replaces the manual work required for bug fixing. Investing in the Pre- Seed stage means giving confidence to the successful entrepreneurs of tomorrow, the first step in the birth of a new company. A collaboration, given the shared investment goals between Eden Ventures and Vento Investments, that will lead to several joint investments in the coming years.
The partnership between Eden Ventures and Vento Investments aims to maximize the benefits related to the key processes of identifying early-stage start-ups and subsequent investment in terms of expanding their respective deal-flows, through collaboration on investment monitoring and increased operational support offered synergistically to the start-ups invested together.
